Forbidden Rice Bowl for Dry, Inflamed Skin

The ingredients in this recipes are seen as “cooling” and hydrating in Chinese medicine, which can be super helpful in healing the skin when you’re starting to feel it getting irritated. Here’s how to make it:


    • 1/4 cup black sticky rice AKA Forbidden Rice

    • 3/4 cup jasmine rice

    • 2 pieces of dried shiitake mushroom

    • 1 palm sized piece of dried kelp

    • 1.5 cups of water


    • Wash all the ingredients together until the rice water runs clear

    • Add enough water in the rice so that it comes up about 1 inch above the rice

    • Cook everything in a rice cooker according to the machine’s instructions

    • Enjoy with your daily meals!
