Chicken Squash Dumplings

    These 💦chicken dumplings 🥟 are the perfect celebration of seasonal ingredients. Here’s how to make it:


    • 1lb ground chicken

    • 1 tbsp soy sauce

    • 1 tsp sesame oil

    • 1 tsp grated ginger

    • 2 chopped scallions

    • 1 egg white

    • 1 tsp white pepper and five spice powder each

    • 1/4 cup boiling hot oil

    • 1/2 flesh from 1 lb honeynut squash

    • 1 tsp salt

    • 1 tbsp of chopped cilantro and parsley each

    • 5 grated garlic cloves

    • Dumpling wrappers

    1. Instructions:

    2. Add ground chicken with herbs, garlic, egg white, spices, and sauces into a heat proof bowl.

    3. Heat the 1/4 cup of oil until smoking.

      • To check if it’s hot enough, place the tip of a wooden chopstick into the oil.

      • If little bubbles start coming from the chopstick, oil is hot enough.

    4. Pour the oil over the herbs in the bowl then immediately start mixing vigorously!

    5. Now you’re filling is done - add 1 tsp to the center of a dumpling wrapper, then pleat.

    6. Add 2 tbsps of oil to a non stick pan and heat on medium. Place dumplings in to brown first.

    7. Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet then cover to let dumplings steam.

    8. Once water is gone dumplings are ready!
